Jean Bouchard's Moulin-à-Vent is a characterful red wine made from 100% Gamay, offering a floral and gourmand bouquet combined with a beautiful minerality, with notable aging potential and refined culinary pairings.

Origin and Terroir
The Moulin-à-Vent appellation extends over approximately 660 hectares in northern Beaujolais, mainly located in the communes of Romanèche-Thorins and Chénas. The vineyard grows on very poor soils of pure pink granite, which force the vines to root deeply, thus giving the wine its concentration and aromatic complexity. The terroir is renowned as one of the finest in Beaujolais

Grape Variety and Vinification
This wine is made exclusively from the Gamay grape variety. The vinification follows a quality-focused tradition aimed at revealing the freshness, structure, and elegance of the cru, resulting in a generous wine on the palate with a complex and harmonious aromatic structure

Organoleptic Characteristics
Appearance: Deep, with purple highlights typical of ripe Gamay
Nose: Floral and gourmand bouquet with notes of rose, red and black berries (raspberry, blackcurrant, blueberry), complemented by expressive minerality
Palate: Generous and full, with a structure that is both complex and harmonious, fine tannins, and an intense and subtly fragrant finish. The wine can also reveal aromas of spices and violet, gaining complexity with age

Temperature and Serving Conditions
The wine is ideally enjoyed at a temperature between 13 and 14°C. It can be appreciated within 3 to 5 years after bottling, but has excellent aging potential that can exceed fifteen years depending on conditions and vintages

Food and Wine Pairings
Classic: Parsley-crusted ham, traditional local dishes
Unconventional: Roasted pork tenderloin with juniper berries
Pairs perfectly with grilled red or white meats, aged cheeses, as well as vegetable dishes such as eggplant gratin or lasagna
