Le Domaine De La Grange Des Pères Blanc 75cl is an exceptional white wine from Languedoc, renowned for its unique blend and traditional winemaking that combines elegance and complexity.
Region and Estate
The estate is located in Aniane, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, on soils rich in limestone, rocks, and glacial scree. Founded in 1989 by Laurent Vaillé, it practices environmentally friendly, organic, and biodynamic viticulture (without certification).
Grape Varieties
The white wine is a blend of:
85% Roussanne
15% Marsanne
Previous vintages contained a little Chardonnay, but this is absent from the 2020 vintage.
Winemaking and Aging
The grape varieties are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks, then blended for malolactic fermentation.
Aging is carried out in 600-liter demi-muids for about 24 months, often without filtration before bottling.
Organoleptic Characteristics
The wine stands out with a bright straw-yellow color with golden highlights.
On the nose, it offers intense aromas of tropical fruits, citrus, white flowers, followed by notes of vanilla and sweet spices.
On the palate, freshness prevails with pleasant acidity and a harmonious structure, offering a balance between liveliness and elegance.
Aging Potential and Serving Suggestions
The wine has excellent aging potential and should ideally be kept for a few years after purchase to fully express its qualities.
Food & Wine Pairings
Perfect with dishes based on fish, seafood, white poultry, as well as aged cheeses.
History and Philosophy
Laurent Vaillé, a master winemaker trained under renowned names such as Jean-François Coche-Dury, created this estate in a difficult terroir in Languedoc, demanding rigor and quality. Production is limited to 2,500–3,000 cases per year, with low-trained vines and highly controlled yields (20–25 hl/ha), to maximize concentration.
