Chateau Beaucastel Rouge Hommage Perrin 2018

The Château Beaucastel Hommage Perrin 2018 is a great Châteauneuf-du-Pape, powerful and elegant, produced from a unique terroir using biodynamic methods, showcasing the Mourvèdre grape with exceptional aging potential.

Origin and Estate
The wine comes from the prestigious family-owned Beaucastel estate, located in the Rhône Valley, north of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. This "Hommage à Jacques Perrin" cuvée is named in tribute to the region's biodynamics pioneer, Jacques Perrin, who revived the cultivation of Mourvèdre. The vineyard is farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles, with meticulous care given to the clay-limestone and silty soils covered in rounded pebbles. 

Blend
The 2018 vintage is a typical blend, composed of:
75% Mourvèdre
10% Syrah
10% Grenache
5% Counoise
This high proportion of Mourvèdre gives the wine its powerful and elegant character. 

Tasting
Color: Intense dark ruby.
Nose: Deep notes of black licorice, violet and thyme, with aromas of black fruits, black cherry, blackcurrant, spices, leather and game.
Palate: Intense, full-bodied and powerful with infinite elegance, complex, with supple tannins and beautiful finesse. The palate offers a perfect balance between structure and spicy, fruity aromas. Very rich on the palate with a long finish, this wine is both robust and elegant.

Serving temperature: 16°C.
Aging: This wine has an aging potential of at least 10 years, if not more, allowing for harmonious and complex development.
Food pairings: Game (lamb, civet), hare royale, grilled red meats, spicy and refined dishes.
